When my life turned on a dime, I found a way to keep on going. While adapting through the housing crash and rebuilding my life despite many challenges, I found something I never expected.
Facing circumstances unlike anything that had ever happened before, I recognized quickly there was no time to lose. When the market crashed in 2008, it took the nation by storm, and as a Broker/Owner, I had to move fast.
I first became a licensed REALTOR® in 2001, moving to southern New Jersey from Philadelphia, leaving behind my career in business. At the timeI was raising my daughter, Avé. It was a crazy time, building my business while being a single father. Over the years, my business grew, and following the next logical step, I bought out a brokerage. The crash threw me for a loop, but I was up to the challenge. I don’t let anything defeat me.You can’t make it to black belt otherwise, which I did decades ago.
I learned as much as I could, developing expertise in REOs, foreclosures and broker price opinions. At the time, I also merged my brokerage with another so I could return to what I was most passionate about—my work as an agent and helping clients achieve their real estate goals.
During those years, I met and fell in love with my wife, Lindsey. We navigated each hurdle together with both of us working in the industry at the time. No matter what, we always stayed busy. We got married, and shortly after the brokerage merger, we found out we were expecting our son, Jack. That lit an even bigger fire under me to get things going. I wanted to knock it out of the park for my family!
Through becoming an expert in helping people in distressed situations in a very challenging market, I built a comfortable life for my family. In 2016, I had my best year. Then, the comfortable world I had built turned upside down once again in the following years with the sudden loss of my father and other loved ones.
It was a stressful time for my whole family and took a while to work through each challenge. However, we did it together. Those years made our relationships even stronger than ever before. My wife and I have been on a real estate team since 2010, and we found ways to grow in business and life even when it seemed impossible.
Back in the ‘90s,I had an interest in personal growth from the people I knew in the martial arts world. From 2017 onward, I returned to that world and went on a personal journey. In the process, I found confidence that I had not realized was in me all along. With that newfound strength, I began to assert my core principles, the ones I had lost sight of over the years. My family is the WHY behind my drive, and they inspire me to aim higher in everythingI do. We are still extremely close, and while family is one of my core principles, I also value integrity, hard work and generosity.
I have been working since I was 12 years old and first clocked in at my family’s grocery store. My idea of generosity grew along with me as I gained more means to give back. I love looking for everyday opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life, which is a big part of why I still enjoy helping others through real estate more than two decades since I began.
When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, going out to dinner, hosting friends, and spending time at the beach. My favorite part of being a real estate Broker is solving problems to help my clients move forward.
We are a real estate family. I founded my team over a decade ago with my wife, Lindsey. Together we have enjoyed evolving along with this ever-changing market to best serve our clients. Over the many years we have been in business, we have developed strong relationships within the community. Our vast professional network helps our clients stand out and keeps them moving forward even when there are last minute problems. When we make a call for our clients, our requests take precedence because we put people first in business.
I have been in business my whole life and have unparalleled experience navigating the nuances of negotiations, contracts, and managing details. There is no problem we have not been able to solve. As full time Brokers we are comfortable wearing the many necessary hats through a transaction while dealing with all different kinds of personalities. We have extensive experience in commercial, residential and investment real estate. Once the transaction is closed, we will continue to support your success as your lifelong Broker team.
Sincerely,
John Swartz
